Just noticed Mexican made strats have just gone up $100. Just the way it is, I guess.

Which model? Depending on model MIM Strats can be either $550, $650, $750....

Yup, the Classic Series are going for nearly a grand over here. For that price I would kinda expect at least a case to be included.

Im right there with you... remember that well.. I laugh everytime I get a new catalog of some sort in the mail anymore. I remember I was trying to buy a Black LP Custom but was struggling to save the $1999. Fenders were about $600 for a USA. And it wasnt long ago at all that the only Fenders that were over a grand were sig models.

Standards here are $550. My newly purchased Deluxe was $650. Classics are $750.

I understand inflation, but I wonder why they decided to go up at this moment. I haven't noticed much of anything else in price going up. I wonder what "hit" them for the price increase.

Early holiday buying season I would guess. They got it in there before people start shopping and notice.

They go up every year. Worked at a store for a few years and I can't remember seeing a single price decrease on ANYTHING, any brand, period.

I would say the quality of the MIM Strats are decent, but I haven't owned a MIM in a while, love my MIA Fender.

Might be a good time to sell my yellow 50th anniversary MIM strat. Haven't bonded with it for awhile now.

I own a Blacktop Strat. Love it. They replaced it with a Standard HH.

I really like the idea behind the Blacktops. Haven't played on yet but I think I would like them!

Then again, I remember buying my '69 LP Custom for about $400 and my '68 345 also for about $400.

Had to happen sooner or later. With the increase in the cost of MIA's and increasing cost of overseas labour, the MIA/MIM/Squire-Modern Player ratios have to be consistent, or the MIM's would be waaayyyyy too underpriced.
