Fender Mustang Guitar

My first electric was a candy red Mustang. I wish I still had it. I've been thinking about trying to score one on ebay but the dang things are out of this world in price for a mid-60's one like I had. If y'all ever run across a great red one in a shop, PM me. Thanks.

Re: Fender Mustang Guitar

I've been looking at Mustangs on ebay recently too... Even the reissues are surprisingly expensive! I've pretty much given up on my search, but if I see anything cool I'll keep you in mind!

Re: Fender Mustang Guitar

My dad use to have a red Fender Mustang from the very first year they were made, but he sold it when he was in college.... :crying:

Re: Fender Mustang Guitar

Those reissues are all CIJ and so while $940 sounds a bit high, CIJ is supposed to be pretty good quality. Check out Ishibashi, Fender Japan makes a whole slew of 'stangs.

I'd rock the daphne blue one, I think. I bet the Antiquity mustang pickups are awesome.

Re: Fender Mustang Guitar

I need to go play one somewhere. I was just a kid. I'm afraid the size might be too small for my fret hand now.

Re: Fender Mustang Guitar

I got a couple - Are you truly interested in purchasing one?

I was for sentimental reasons. My first elec guitar was a red one, mid 60'a version. Now that I picked up the new strat, my mustang gas has subsided.

Re: Fender Mustang Guitar

The guitarist in my band got a CIJ reissue a while back. He's rather picky when it comes to his instruments and he had no complaints about the guitars craftsmanship or sound, only that the 24" scale didn't work for him.

I'd say if you want a mustang, get the reissue. They're good.

Re: Fender Mustang Guitar

Greetings, guitarkid. Wow! The description of your dad and his Fender Mustang also describes me, almost to a "T." In my senior year of high school,1966, I had a brand new Fender Mustang guitar, dakota red, and Fender Princeton Reverb Amp. But I was very young and dumb, so during my college years, in a moment of sheer INSANITY... and you have no idea how much it GRIEVES me to say this... I sold them!
