Re: Fender VS Traynor
For cleans, you simply can't get better than a Fender Twin (well, a Matchless Chieftain, but that's in a whole 'nuther league). It's the perfect clean slate for effects.
Why not save up some more and get something more versatile than just a one trick pony?
Rivera would give you both that Traynor- Marshall like vibe and you'd get great cleans as well. If you really wanted to invest in something great, look at a Bogner Shiva or my Triamp or an ENGL. All of these brands offer great cleans and killer distortion.
I remember playing an ENGL Straight amp and even though it was a little combo, it could shred like you wouldn't believe and had incredible cleans. For your style Biu, it would be perfect. There are tons of different ENGLs in different price ranges so I'm sure if you search around you can find a great one for the right price.
A Soldano wouldn't be bad either.
It's not that there's anything wrong with just a Fender or Traynor. They each do something very well. It's just that nowadays you can get an amp that does both very well and at a decent price. If you love good cleans, but you also need that killer sustaining solo tone (that I know you'd love for your cover songs), you owe it to yourself to look into some of the amps I've listed. Trust me, you won't be disappointed
P.S. Ken was my favorite Street Fighter and that theme song brought a tear to my eye
