Finally a tele in the house

I always fancied a tele for it's twang and raw pure tone (and awesome bridge pickup tone) but being a strat player every time i found a tele i liked there was always a strat that i also needed......

This time though i had to buy a tele.......So here's what i got........

It's a fender classic player baja tele which comes with a beefy 9.5 radius medium jumbo frets neck, a CS broadcaster bridge pickup and a Custom Shop “Twisted” Tele Single-Coil (Neck) and S1 switching. It originally came with a vintage blonde finish but since i always been a big admirer of double bound teles and lake placid blue finish i HAD to change the body (to a MIJ custom 62 reissue body i got from ebay).

The guitar has an awesome tone and excellent built quality and my only problem is that i have to get used to the quite big neck since i am used to playing smaller necks.......

Is that purple? I love it!! That binding really sets it off. All it needs now is a pearloid pickguard.;)

That thing looks great, I also admire the double bound tele bodies. Could you post some pics of the body to show off the colour?

Re: Finally a tele in the house

No it's not purple......the colour is called lake placid blue....it's a metallic blue and really difficult to photograph.... the colour changes from a very deep metallic blue (like on the previous photos to a much lighter shade of blue under different light conditions.....I will try and take some more photos of the body later.....

Here are some i already have on my HDD

Oh God, that is gorgeous. :baby: I LOVE that color. Coincidentally, that's what color I have spec'd out for my Esquire project next year. That is HAWT!!!

Re: Finally a tele in the house

Oh...it's not purple? Then I hate it now!;) Just kiddin man. I just had to come back once again and look at it. I love that guitar man. I really love it. I bet you're as happy as three coyotes eatin a deer carcas.

Re: Finally a tele in the house

That looks sharp. I like the double bound Telecasters. I was thinking that was black when I first saw the original pictures.

Re: Finally a tele in the house

Wow, that is a looker! I've always been a huge fan of the lake placid blue finishes.

That's a great guitar. Have fun with it bro. Are you going to change anything else on it, or leave it as is?

Re: Finally a tele in the house

I love the binding on that tele. Thats the only thing I wish my tele had. Cream binding... mmmmmmmmmm

Re: Finally a tele in the house

I love the binding on that tele.
It really sets it off doesn't it? I'm really not a Fender type of guy. I don't really dig Strats, but I've always loved Telecasters. I don't know what it is, but I just can't help but keep coming back and looking at this guitar. I love it man!!

Re: Finally a tele in the house

Thanks for the comments......No more modding on this guitar.....it plays like a dream, the CS pickups are awesome and i am also satisfied ....cosmetically.....so , no reason to change anything....

Re: Finally a tele in the house

i LOVE it!!!!! double bound teles are amazing.... those were nice tele necks on those guitars you took the parts from

Re: Finally a tele in the house

NICE!!!! i freaking love the binding and color/finish!!!

NEW STUFF ROCKS!!! :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Re: Finally a tele in the house

"Mr. Tele" sez: WOW!

That is a super-slick Telecaster. I hope to replace my MIM Nashville's CAR bod with something double-bound someday.

Re: Finally a tele in the house

That is one of the sexiest tele's I've ever seen....I'm not even a fan of that blue, but that is hot

Re: Finally a tele in the house

GREAT looking guitar! Congrats! And yes, I agree about the binding! It increases the already increased temperature!

I'd like to have a blues guitar apart from the others and that would be a Tele.
