"Finest delay pedal in the World"

Re: "Finest delay pedal in the World"

No thanks...it's just another digital delay and for the money, no way!

Here's my take...simulation should be for folks that can;t afford the real thing.

Examples-I use a 58 reissue LP because I don't have 250k for a real burst...

I use a custom built V Front Super clone because 5k for an original is too much for an amp that needs so much.

$3600+ for a pedal that simulates a tape echo is redundant...for $3600 you could get an EP-2, and EP-3, a Space Echo and a WEM Copycat if you shopped right so I'll pass.

Re: "Finest delay pedal in the World"

I'm thinking its more of a studio device for engineers then a plug and play pedal maybe?

It's a plug and play pedal...again if I was in the studio and wanted a tape echo sound I'd just use a real tape echo!

The Cornish TES is a digital box and at the heart of it is the big ol' chip that was used in older Roland rack mount delays as well as the Boss DD-2, in fact if you want a new TES from Corinish you have to supply one of those Roland rack units or a DD-2 for him to rob the chip from!

Those bidders are as stupid as the Klon buyers...

I love how people bid the ridiculous numbers for pedals, and then when you see the pro's pedal board, all you see is BOSS pedals. :smack:

That one yours?

I wonder what the extra knob is for!

FWIW, that's what I use...a good old EP-3. I loved it when I got it and was SO scared to ever do anything to it...I was afraid it would loose some of the magic or mojo but after I got it serviced it sounded even better!!!

Plenty of Klons on Pro boards...Cornish for that matter too but more Klons.

Not saying 3600 for a delay pedal isn't stupid it is but I don't see it the same way I see $1200 for a Klon...

It really is the same though. You can't convince me that a $1200 overdrive sounds 12 times better than a $100 pedal (silly analogy, but you get my point).

Almost every recording we cherish was made with relatively cheap gear.

Re: "Finest delay pedal in the World"

Expensive overhyped stuff is per defenition crazy.
It is a grave misconception to go overboard with gear, does not help or make anyone happier.
Only causes more confusion, and in reality it is steering you away from the thing it is about, playing guitar and make music.
It is the kick of buying something, not the kick of going on stage and play.
Ironicly Les Paul talked about not going overboard chasing sound, he was a person who pushed the boundaries of the tech, but he had the gift for it, and he played a great guitar.

People seem to forget that the perceived collectability of an item adds to its perceived value. I'm not saying that the TES has two grand of collectible value, but some of it is.

Hopefully the winner is very happy with his/her $3,750 delay pedal.

Re: "Finest delay pedal in the World"

Here is a slightly older Cornish TSE...note the Boss DD-2 controls all still in tact.
From what I've gathered reading online the T.E.S is a BOSS DD-2 with mods in the feedback loop to give it more of a tape delay sound. Something that can be done for about $250 or less. Correct me if Im wrong and there is alot more done
