I prefer a non-floating trem, as it enables detuning without having to adjust spring tension to get the trem back in position. Saves you a lot of trouble. And the tremolo won't let you down when you break a string, enabling you to at least finish the song you're playing, for as far as possible. That's my main issues. I have two guitars with a floating Floyd Rose-style trem (JT580 and Edge) and an ordinary fulcrum-style on my Squier. The Lag has a hardtail Tele-style bridge by Schaller.
