I've almost got this mod worked out, so soon if theres anyone in the UK wanting it I can offer it :D

Nailing his tone isn't difficult. I have a Marshall JCM800 4211(2210) Combo. That amp has slightly more gain than the 2203's and 2204's, and has 5 preamp tubes. I put a TS-9 in front of it, dime the level, set drive on 0, and plug in the Les Paul. Nails the Welcome to the Jungle/Sweet Child of Mine tone.

I also contacted Eurotubes and had them send me a set of pre amp tubes that would increase the gain slightly as well as round out the tone.

Update- I recently had the amp re-tubed and serviced, and now it NAILS teh AFD tone. Alot clearer, sweeter, warmer, the tone is there

Thanks for that great info, I'm a huge slash fan, the GnR albums are what got me into guitar playing in the first place!
