for those that use a HotPlate

How high do you set your post gain to? I just got my HotPlate recently and I've been fooling with the amp settings alot to find what I want. Before the HotPlate I had my 5150 set at 2. It was a good volume and I liked the tone. Now that I have the Hot Plate I want to use the power tube distortion to its advantage. Lately I've found that I like anything around 4-6. I'm just curious to see what others do. Anyone crank it all the way to 10? :saeek:

depends. if im doing a rock gig i run it with the marshall on about 8, if im doing a bigger blues gig i run the twin on 10

I generally either run my amp at 6 or 10. The higher I put the master volume, the lower I run the preamp gain.

I love my Hotplate.

Just be carefull running it full out (gain 10, MV 10). It may sound cool, but it puts alot of strain on your amp....
