The DiMarzio V PAF's

well this prolly is gonna be as good as ya can get. I posted this over in the amp forum.

As I have mentioned I have a V Paf and V Hot in my wolfie special (american version) and like them alot. This guy is an awesome player and definately showed how "open" these pups sound. The only thing I've noticed is that the bottom isn't as pronounced as let's say a 59 (of course if it sounded like a 59 then it wouldn't be a DiMarzio would it). All in all, I really like these DiMarzios and plan on keeping them in my wolfie special. I'm also considering them in my wolfie standard down the road. I think DiMarzio hit a homerun with these and would be interesting to see if Duncan comes up with a simular model.

Agreed..I've noticed that as well. They don't quite have that low end "thud" of 59. From what I can tell the VPAFs sound quite a bit like my BB Pros but have more of that "open", or "airy" quality to them than the BBpros.

You can also hear a little single coil vibe to them..subtle...but nice. Very apparent when he flips to the neck pickup...not quite as fat as a normal humbucker and a bit more chime.

Neat pickups. The more I hear them, the more I like them.

i thought of that combo for my les paul before ordering my custom/a2pro combo.
emailed dimarzio and asked them if the norton or breed neck would be like a hotter and bassier virtual hot paf,they said to pick the norton.
