Re: Forum p'up v. 2.0: aka "Hy-Bro" 2015

It was a little exaggeration, but seriously we can nail this down within the next 24-48 hours if we wanted to.
Part of the reason it's allowed to linger a little bit is to get as many people involved as possible. While I personally may be attached to my phone or some other digital device which allows me to get here at almost any time not everybody is as obsessed with the Intarwebnetz as I am, so they might not log in for a couple days.

Suggestion for next time; rather than let the polls stay open a long time, announce that the process will begin in one or two weeks to give people a chance to set aside time, but then once it begins, move quickly, each poll only open for 48 hours. I think the one-two week spans of time is causes a loss of cohesiveness.

I'm of the opinion that there are not many bad pickups, just different ones. I think a pickup that comes about from a rushed process is every bit as likely to be as interesting as one that comes from a more deliberative process, if not more so for the spontaneity.

BINGO, my point exactly. If this process still takes weeks and months from now, people will lose interest FAST.

I'd love to say that would work, but real life gets in the way A LOT.

You have no idea how many eBay auctions I've missed out on sniping because something will happen at the EXACT MOMENT the auction is about to go down, whereas I'd been sitting on my duff the whole day before that.

Or the fact that even I didn't get a chance to even think of this place in any way shape or form until after 2:30 today.

Real life stinks. I want to live in the Internet. LOL

We're not all so busy, especially those of us with computer jobs who have a bit of down time here and there.

IMO a neck '59/Custom already is the forum pickup and at this point a few people are going out of their way to ruin it. The '59/Custom doesn't have hex screws, it does not. There should be no more votes. Scott Olson should announce to the Custom Shop reps that we'd like a neck '59/Custom, and that's that for 2015.

There are some tiny details to work out beyond that, so let's not rush just because you're impatient. : popworm:

Anyway, there IS another thread in the series here. Let's carry on there. And try to keep it nice. :)
