Those are alnico 3 pickups, like the Fender Nocasters. I didn't love the Nocasters and I think the Fralin Real 54's are probably similar and brighter than most people want from a Strat pickup. I've never tried the Real 54's but the guys in Lindy's shop tell me they are very bright, and even they prefer the Vintage Hots or Blues Specials. I use the Fralin Vintage Hots but underwound about 3%...that's bright enough for me and they sound extremely close to the pickups in my '63 Strat. Those and the Duncan Antiquity Surfers are my very favorite Strat pickups. Lew
