Freznel Amp kits? Sound clip and link....

I don't know who is creating these amps, but it does seem to have some good things, as well as an economical amp kit price! The sound clip on the lower end of the page scroll makes me want to get a Tele, and gain more tasty chops!

edit: check out that PTP wiring at the bottom of the page! It looks a lot like my Sunn model T...all spaghetti style. Righteous!

My buddy has had one of Jim's souped up 5e3's for about a year now. Great value and tone. He's currently running KT88's in it, yes 88's and it sounds killer. I noticed that all of the extras that my buddy asked for are now standards for Jim's 5e3. I also noticed that his prices have jumped up quite a bit. But all in all, really nice amps for the money. That sound clip is an accurate one, btw.

I think I spoke with this guy once when he was building amps out of old chassis from old 70s amps and what have you. Looks like he's really started to soup things up a bit with enlosures and nice faceplates. If its the same guy, he's a real nice guy. Cant speak about the amps or the kits, but he definately is a good guy.

Yeah, after going through the site it is definately the person I remember.

I have a 5F6 (late '50s Bassman) power amp head that he made. It's 35w RMS, and it rocks. It has the necessary jacks to connect to my guitar and a cab, and it has an on/off switch. It doesn't have any knobs on it at all. It works perfectly with my pedals or with my Vox ToneLab. It is a really awesome head, and I got a great deal on it. Over the past year and a half that I've had it, I've switched 6L6 tubes a few times for fun, and I like EHx the best. With either of my cabs it can get really loud, and it sound great when the tubes are driven hard.
