Alright folks, you asked for it!

https://soundcloud.com/kamandasd/sd-solo-contest-2-v1
*(Please note I need to make a quick tweak to the mix, esp the distorted guitar...made some bad decisions with fatigued ears, but this will get you started!)*

This one is a little disjointed but I wanted to add a little variety:

A - Clean section in Em (Em - C - Em - C - D - C)
B - Rockin' in Em (Em - D - C - Am - Em - D - C - D)
C - Let's go Major! (G - D - Em - C)

For those not all about the alphaghetti's ... just rock out in Em.

--------------------------------------------------------

Interesting.
Now I just have to figure out which guitar that I want to tune up to E standard.

Re: Friendly Solo Contest 2

Cos he needs to hit the high E in the 24th fret at the end of the solo. Clearly.

Re: Friendly Solo Contest 2

Oh, I suppose I'll just transpose.
Careful what you wish for.

Re: Friendly Solo Contest 2

It's not transposing to play the correct notes. I know all the notes in D standard. So box 1 for E minor starts on fret 2 and 14. Just giving you a little friendly dose of logic since you invented it and all...

"Invented" lol
Is that sarcasm?

Re: Friendly Solo Contest 2

Let's not dilute the purpose here. Don't matter what tuning you're in as long as you're playing the right notes! I just don't use an Eb tuned guitar because the one fret difference throws me off...D standard I'd just pretend I'm in F#!

Play on!

Re: Friendly Solo Contest 2

Do I have to explain sarcasm to you too? I thought you were an intellectual giant???

Re: Friendly Solo Contest 2

Kamanda, thanks for putting this together! I really felt the transition to G Major :)

I hope I get my stuff together to record something.

Re: Friendly Solo Contest 2

Re: Friendly Solo Contest 2

I am really looking forward to this weekend when I have a little time to sit down and play with this! Thanks Kamanda!

Re: Friendly Solo Contest 2

Fo sho, great tune! I memorized it and fiddled around a little today.

Re: Friendly Solo Contest 2

As did I.
I just played unplugged with the tracks playing on my cell.
I haven’t mapped it out and worked on any melodies but I gave it a quick play-through.

Re: Friendly Solo Contest 2

Oooh, cool. I've listened to the track a couple times and it looks like fun. I'll try to get something recorded tomorrow.
