Friendly Solo Contest 2

Re: Friendly Solo Contest 2

Sorry, deleted it. Unconciously, I was influenced by someone I heard already. And I realized that they did it much better.
Oh well, try, try again.

Re: Friendly Solo Contest 2

Friday night ..1:00 AM & I'm finally done with plonking strings for my entry.. (...to think some people actually have a life :lmao:)

I decided to keep things simple and do what I do best..so it's my Zoom G1Xon multi-fx pedal into my "Ammoon" stereo looper :laugh2:

Figured since Kamanda had already done all the hard work (killer track again by the way dude..) & produced this backing track with a sound that I could'nt even begin to think of recording myself ..it was better if I at least recorded my bit in stereo. The Zoom has a stereo outlet...the Ammoon has stereo inputs = no brainer :D

Saved me a whole lot of setup time and sound-wise it's better than my usual stuff so... :p

I had'nt checked out the other entries until I posted my track, because I wanted to keep stuff real & not be influenced/inimidated haha..but I just ran through them and they're all friggin' fantastic..really awesome stuff from everyone. Greekdude, LL ..killer tone & nice & shreddy. Old school melody/tones from Briguy ..those are the ones I listened to, might have missed something I'll check in the morning. Looking forward to the other entries..keep them coming :bigthumb:

Well it's about to snow here and the wife is locked down at the hospital under their emergency plan so I'm alone and bored what the heck---. The Pawn shop rescue Ibanez mutt with a JB in the bridge plugged straight into my Mesa DC 5 head on a Blackstar 1/12 with a WGS Retro 30 in it bout as raw and straight forward as it gets. Recored with a little Sony SX 700 recorder bout the size as a BIC lighter sitting across the room with the track playing through my JBL monitors again about as low tec and primitive as it can get so--.

Re: Friendly Solo Contest 2

I've been using my audio computer and rack interface downstairs for digitalizing my LP collection, I'll try to cut some time today evening to haul the gear back to my amp and record something.

I haven't yet got into those mobile computers...

Huh. The JB doesn't sound as middy as everyone always seems to complain that it is. :P

Nice clip!

JB can be magic in the right guitar or a trainwreck in the wrong as they are one of the most fickle pickups I have used. This particular combo is one that really works. Frankly I was surprised that it was a JB when I pulled it on this particular guitar as it just kills. Thanks man.

People talk smack on the JB, IMHO, the JB is as good as it gets for ripping lead guitar. Not the sweep crap maybe, but I never liked that anyway. Arpeggios played straight up and down is an awesome technique, but it sounds like Azz
