Pretty excited- G&L reissued the L2000 & L1000 basses in their original style in the last year, using the 'CLF Research' sub-brand. They also just placed reproduction classic style knobs for sale on their website, so it's not too alarming they're beginning to reissue Leo-era guitars now:
Glad to see the first series Skyhawk get the reissue treatment, even if it isn't the 'obvious' choice- the Skyhawk was always the most Strat-like of G&L guitars (before the BBE era Legacy) so I suppose it makes sense as far as not jumping into the experiment too radical. Basically as far as their present lineup, it's a Nighthawk shape with vibrato, S500 pickups and the old style control plate and headstock; distinctively G&L while not going too far off the deep end into their pool of 'weird' models.
