Gang of 8 - Reverbs

I figured this might be a good way to turn folks onto some new pedals by listing your favorites that you own/use. Any kind of reverb unit or pedal. Sorry, can't be from the amp itself. List them up.

Your 8 heavy hitter REVERB pedals.

1. Free The Tone - Ambi Space Reverb
2. Source Audio - Ventris
3. Strymon - Big Sky
4. Neunaber - Immerse MKII
5. Boss - RV 500
6. Empress - Reverb
7. MXR - M300
8. Strymon - Night Sky

I own/use only one.

EHX Holy Grail Nano. Simple, effective, great sound. It can have "too much" reverb if you let it.

The Fractal stuff does the pitch-transposed can't-tell-it-is-a-guitar stuff that I like.

I don't have 8. Only use one. (These counts seem arbitrary and only applicable to the OP?)

Strymon blueSky (not to be confused with BigSky)

...otherwise, I have dozens of reverbs built-in to my Zoom MS50G, or I'll use a single rack reverb like an SPX90 or Roland SRV330 under my pedalboard.

And sometimes, stacking of delays eliminates the need for a reverb

Great! Then list the one you have or the ones you maybe used to have or tried and liked for whatever reasons, etc. Does your one pedal have plate, hall, spring, etc? If so, talk about that. The idea of these threads is to get people talking about gear and sharing things that could possibly help other people who come across these threads learn something about these pedals or discover a new pedal to try or save them the grief (potentially) of trying something that wasn't so great, etc. This isn't a list the gear you own thread by any means...lol. It also isn't a what could you get by with thread either. We all have more gear than we probably have to have. Now back to the gear talk please. ;)

Some great choices above.

I have been on a more ambient-y search but I’m not really fully ambient.

All time fave:
Alexander Sky Fi and Sky 5000. Awesome quadraverb like verbs. Check it out. Bonus is that it comes with a nice delay.

Also like:
Strymon Big Sky - the reference from my POV
Strymon Flint - particularly the 80s sound.
Eventide Blackhole
Digitech Supernatural
Digitech Digiverb - outdated, sure, but it has some characteristic sound I still like
Most spring reverbs - I use a bit to play jazz and I noticed I’m not picky at all with it. I liked the HOF for this for example.
Boss RV5 - classic choice - that mod is something
Meris Mercury 7 - this one is impressive, particularly in stereo. That said, I sold it because I felt it was too detached from my playing and bought (back) an Alexander Sky.

Incoming:
Source Audio Collider lol like in the other list

Not sold on:
HX reverbs - I think the hall is nice but I feel like I need an external pedal
Strymon Blue Sky - I was very disappointed, maybe I was expecting half a Big Sky and this just wasn’t

I dig the HX reverbs. With an expression pedal and internal pitch transposer, they sound amazing.

I use a Flint with a very short plate delay (70s)

Ive had many Mega Church players attempt to steal my Flint off my board explaining that I was not "Worthy" I kid I kid

My preferred Reverb is an Accutronics long spring tank. I can’t really see any reason to use a pedal for that. YMMV.

Do you believe you can hear the difference between an Accutronics and some of the other makers if the coil length, resistance etc is similar?

Curious.

I only have gotten the Stomp recently so I’m sure there’s more I could figure out to dial it in. What specific reverb do you like and what’s the pitch transposer effect you use?

The Strymon path of salvation

I believe in Plate Reverb Almighty, maker of vibrations and reverberations,

It was conceived by the Wilhelm Franz, and born of Elektromesstechnik.

Plate Reveb suffered under the 1980s and was crucified, died, and was buried. Giant EMT 140s descended into storage.

On the sixth decade it rose again from the dead, ascended onto Strymons workbench, and sits at the right hand of an EMT250 and the Boss DD3;

from thence Ace will come to judge the pedal boards of the McTemple rockers.

I believe in the Big Sky, the holy EL Capistan, the communion of harmonic trem and reverb together in the Flint, the forgiveness of sheeniness of the DD7, the resurrection of the Yamaha Rev7, and the Carbon Copies everlasting.

Amen.

I use Particle Verb, with Pitch Glide set to specific frequency. I might have a few instances of the pitch transposer to get different preset intervals mixed in.

Lol
That was creative and somehow not offensive.
Love you, man.

Thanks! I’ll check it out. I have stayed within the more recent ones that folks rave about on YT.

Actually, the legacy ones are just as good. The new ones have more parameters to mess with, but are not 'better' than the older ones.
