How come the hardware on a 30 year old guitar is still gold? The gold hardware on my Epi Black Beauty has tarnished so bad it's half silver.

There may be, and I know this is a pretty out-there theory, but it's possible that there's a small difference in quality between the hardware used on a 70s Gibson and that on a recent Korean knockoff.

Was there any need for the sarcasm? :scratchch I asked about my hardware tarnishing a few days ago and whether I should replace it with Gibson stuff, and people thought genuine Gibson parts would tarnish just as bad as Epi parts.

SO sorry for asking what you thought to be a retarded question, but we're not all experts like yourself around here. :28: You think I should buy Gibson gold hardware then? It'll last for 30 years without tarnishing, like the ones, apprently, in that pic?

If I got it - could/should I change it up to the Spacemans fave cream rings & Dimarzios or leave it as is????

Sorry Ace, I wasn't trying to turn it to my thing - I just wondered how that guitar looks so good considering its age.
