Gentlemen,let's talk nail polish........

Re: Gentlemen,let's talk nail polish........

Whatever you do, don't EVER put finger nail polish remover anywhere near a guitar.

I saw someone try to use it to clean their fretboard one time, and besides weakening the frets, they spilled a few drops of it on the body of their LP. It literally erased the finish when he started trying to wipe it off!

We've obviously never met! :laugh2:

The only guitar my motley, mangled nails match is this one:

A bit of gangreen,a bit of rust, lots of dirt and grease:

Cheers,PJ

I'm sitting here looking at this and thinking about a truck I used to own, and the question in my mind is, "At what point does touch up paint cease to be touch up paint...?".

It's not actually touch up paint, the finish has worn through the layers of paint
and the pickguard is painted as an old Pontiac sign and all the rust IS real!
The neck however is uncharacteristicly TOO clean but this guitar really plays like butter and sounds great!!

Now PJ, we can use the neck to jack up the gearbox next time we do your clutch:friday:

Re: Gentlemen,let's talk nail polish........

I use a clear nail polish with industrial diamond dust in it .

I like it a lot too get a lot of miles off a three coat process to my thumb , index & middle fingers of my right hand only .

Ring finger and pinky get only two coats and last as long as the three fingers .
