GFS Active EQ Controls

Has anyone tried any of the Guitar Fetish active controls for their Strats? I was thinking of using their distortion and the Clapton midboost. Has anyone tried either of these?

I have tried the mid boost - I would call it a mud boost. Returned it at the cost of return shipping and felt ripped off.

Anyone have experience with cheap active EQ's and boosts? It'd be nice to find a boost that also acts as a volume cut.

know a guy who took a TC Spark Booster Pedal apart and installed in a strat...no prob getting the electronics to fit...controls required some routing...strat looks funky to me but he digs it.
