Try the search function, I know I've seen some threads on them.

Re: GFS~guitar fetish pickups

I have their dual blade Tele bridge pickup and it is a really good pickup. Not as bright or twangy as a stock Tele but more powerful. I have a WCR Fillmore in the the neck of the Tele and the GFS is a great match.

Re: GFS~guitar fetish pickups

I built a strat for my daughter's band using their products (I had a body, neck, tuners and bridge lying around from other projects). I got their 'Elite' strat pickguard/electronics kits (3 mini on/off/on toggles instead of a 5-way) plus a set of their Lil' Killers (Bladed single coil sized humbuckers). The neck and middle PUPs are wound hotter so I had to file the pickguard PUP slots to get them to fit. BTW, the guitarists are playing a S-101 and Silvertone Strat clones and were asking to 'borrow' my MIA Strat.

THe PUPs - I like the tone; not a true strat tone (DUH) but a large improvement over what her band mates are using. The bridge PUP (~13K) was surprising, it tamed the highs but did not over emphasize the bass. The guitar player dialed in the middle PUP on my Fender Champ amp and gets sweet tone with a mild attack and can make the amp growl with a harder attack. Not bad for inexpensive PUPs.

Re: GFS~guitar fetish pickups

I have a set of GFS Fat PAFs in my Agile LP. They're pretty nice. Especially the neck one. Very warm and smooth. The bridge one I'm not really 100% sold on - It seems kind of anemic in comparison (it's about 13.4k, neck is about 12.2k IIRC) I think it needs something fat and high-output to match. (maybe a Super Distortion or Tone Zone or some such)

Also, on the GFSs I got, the leads were really short - I had to extend the neck pickup leads, and the bridge leads made it by about 1mm. :smack:

Curiosity got the best of me...just ordered a Little Killer set. Won't be in the guitar for a while though...guitar needs lots of work.
