Gibson Bashers incoming in 3.......2.........
If they released these with just the snazzy pin striping and no diamonds, I'd totally go for an explorer or midtown.
Gibson Bashers incoming in 3.......2.........
I was just about to post about this. It's obviously not for the average player. Purely a collector's item, which is apparently the only demographic Gibson caters to anymore. I'd much rather see their time and money put into making actual improvements in design and playability of their guitars instead of making the maximum buck off its customers.
While I agree in principle, there`s something people always love to forget.
Gibson is a BUSINESS, not a charity.
They are not doing this (or anything else, for that matter) to "please" anyone. They are, like every other business in the world, making and advertising what they think will sell, which they do with the intent of earning money, which if successful means they live another day and can sell more.
I never see anyone bashing the PRS Private Stock Models or the Dragons back in the day, which are essentially the EXACT same thing. But Gibson, unlike PRS, can not build a single thing and take a picture of it without half the Internet calling them Satan for it, positively or negatively, usually both.
How does the saying go again, something like "You know you`re truly successful when people you don`t even know hate you for everything you do".![]()

You should check out the entire 2014 model line. They have done just what you are talking about. There is a lot of new/refinements, and even the $450 dollar melody maker is gtting the full PLEK treatment. Name another company doing that on their budget guitars.
I thought this was going to be a bash fest for Gibson
