Gibson must be stepping up their game

Re: Gibson must be stepping up their game

I am actually a Gibson artist, but I don't own any Gibsons at the moment. I've played good new ones and ones I wouldn't buy, but I am not sure the ratio is different than any other bigger brand.

How are the Lites? Are they neck heavy? I always wondered about the 80s/90s ones, too.

Not neck heavy at all I don't have any dive issues. I love it, 100% Les Paul tone but so much more comfortable to play. I have a set of WHLs in mine, it screams.

Good to hear. I was always interested in these models, as they solve almost everything that keeps me from playing LPs.

Re: Gibson must be stepping up their game

My Gibson had a burr on one or two frets
Looks like where it came out of the PLEK machine
Just had a rolled up sharp burr hanging on the the edge of the fret
Didnt take much to sort out
But I noticed it instantly
The seller just said " yeah they do that sometimes "
And walked off

Last time I buy anything from there

Other than that it is a solidly built guitar

But while my Chinese made one off instruments have similar issues
None so far were fret issues
Lots of nut and hardware problems with the Chinese ones

I like my Gibson
Certainly wouldn't want to pay over a grand for one

I think a lot of the issues people have are with the well made replicas
And they are just mistaken for Authentics

But for the price they are charging, there SHOULDN'T be the same ratio as in the lower priced brands! They should be MUCH better...a much, much higher "good ones" to "bad ones" ratio!

I agree with this for any blue chip brand. But Gibson hasn't been on my radar as far as designs and money I'd have to spend. What I'd get wouldn't be terribly different that what I already have, so while it might be fun to play or look at, I'd need more than that to spend that kind of $$.
