I'm seriously considering buying one. I played a friend's today and I was like damn this is cool, it fixed EVERYTHING that I don't like about gibsons, and it's a gibson!! I guess it was too modern of a take for them and they decided to can it. I'm sure the duncan custom shop can do something with that bridge pup.
I've grown to appreciate the bridge pickup. It takes some tweaking, but it has a good sound for a stock pickup. It kind of reminds me of the mids you get from a P-90. The pickup is designed to mimic a Strat single when split, I think it does a damn fine job of that. It deffinatley has it's own sound.
The humbucker isn't just installed at a slant, the coils are slanted. It's like you take a normal humbucker and TWIST it, not just turn it a little sideways.
Gibsons had so may cool models in the early nineties that they just canned... my The Paul II for example along with the ugly but good MIII and all those weird strat copies.
