I like the way they look - especially in certain colors.

I thikn they're ugly in black, but glorious in white or cream. I love a walnut brown, and a worn red is iconic, if not a little boring.

I really like seeing them in weird colors, though.

Cool! I'm just very picky when it comes to guitar looks.. And I'm probably in a minority for what I like too..

Yeah, I love black SG's, you is on crack.

I say do it, SG's do feel weird though, make sure you play them first, especially standing up and strapped on, it takes a few minutes to get used to. Actually, mine is pretty much sitting only.

I'd play the heck out of different SGs in the store first and see if it's even what you want. In regards to selling off your others to fund a new guitar, just do it.

I'm essentially condensing down to an ES-335 and a Tele. That's all I need and that's all I care about. One only has just so much time to play guitar anyhow, so I might as well get two very different great sounding guitars and select one over the other for an intended application. No sense in complicating things. If the SG is your thing, go for it and make it happen.

If this goes to plan, I'll have a Strat, Tele, 335, and SG

I think that will cover me nicely.

I love having a Les Paul, but when I record, every time I want a Les-Pauly sound, I almost always end up recording it with my Telecaster. It [mine, specifically] out-Pauls my Paul for some reason.

I mostly play my Les Paul when I look at it and say "damn, I love the way that thing looks!" then I play it for a little while :laughing:

Dude, move the strap button to the upper horn. SGs feel kinda weird to me too, but moving the strap button makes them sit in a much more normal playing position. Plus it can help with neck heaviness.

This is a lefty? Who owns this? I want to eat their soul.

And, to be serious for a moment, I think you should do it too. There really isn't very much that you can't do with an SG and a Tele. They're two of the most versatile guitars out there. If I could only have two electrics, it would a great Tele and a great SG. In fact, I'm moving house very soon and those are the exact guitars I'm planning to take with me.

Add the fact that you've got a 335 and a Strat and you have all your bases covered. I don't think there's a good reason for not doing this.

I like SGs. They have a very unique feel and the way they hang is great for energetic performances where you want to move around a lot.
