Yep, after looking at these, the pic you posted is definitely a fake. You've got nickel covers where you shouldn't, EPIPHONE PLASTIC on your *AHEM* "Gibson", incorrect tailpieces, and an incorrect pick-guard. Thanks for doing my research for me and for doing this to yourself:

The most conspicuous thing I saw was Epiphone stickers on the pickups of a guitar that was definitely not an Epiphone.

You did say it blew away Edgecrusher's black SG. No, the knobs are not for me but they can be easily changed. That black SG is awesome. I don't think you would find one person on the forum that would chose the Chinese firewood you posted over Edgecrusher's axe.

I'm impartial and not part of the original "argument"/contention, but I have to say that Stratman's photo is way different than any of the Epiphones he referred to in post #44... The pickguards are different, the switches are different, the pups are different, the tailpieces are different, the control layout is different, the location of the output jack is different, the neck joins the body at a different place (3 frets different), the number of frets and fret inlays is different, etc.
So, just out of curiosity, what IS the guitar that Stratman posted a picture of in post #30????? It's obviously not a Gibson nor an Epi.

It;s how it plays and sound that is important - not where it is made and by whom!
Gibson makes guitars in Qingdao China under their brand EPIPHONE and that factory also make parts for Gibson….
So keep on spending your money and making comments about copies….

Qingdao does not make parts for gibson but only epiphone. I know this for a fact as one of my friends is married to a manager in that place...
Even then all that is beside the point... The guitar you posted was NOT made in that factory. It might have been made in Shandong if its the ones im thinking of they come from Jiaoxian but they sure arent made in the Gibson owned qingdao factory
