I recently bought a’70s Flying V with the Tribute pickups and thought of swapping the neck for that very same combo! Of course, I could also get something like a SD Jazz…Never been a fan of Gibson pickups aside from the 57 Classic+, and in no way would I shell out more than $250 for a set of pickups, but that combo of the 70’s Tribute in the bridge and the T-Type in the neck had something really cool going on, except they don’t come in 4-conductor.

I think Gibson pickups are as good as any. I don't think the prices of the modern series are too bad, even. 100 for a 498T? Would totally pay that. In fact, I might.
The DCR between the two is similar, so maybe. The Dirty Fingers does have two polepiece coils, where the ‘70s Tribute has the traditional slug and polepiece coils. FWIW, I love the bridge ‘70s Tribute in my Flying V! :fing2:Gotta say I'm also interested in the 70s tribute bridge pickup... maybe they dropped an A5 into a Dirty Fingers?
So, I was reading the 70's pickup. A tribute to the "hotter" pickups Gibson was putting out in the mid 70's for the new hot players?
