Glamour Shots

Re: Glamour Shots

I really like that design and the intention behind it. I'm wondering, what kind of vibrato is that?

Looks like a Kahler Spyder to me. Nice axe! A bud of mine had one back in the day. was pearl white w/black hardware. Think he had a floyd tho.

And in response to Gibson175 :eek2: :eek2: :eek2:

I would have a hard time concentrating on playing.

Re: Glamour Shots

Thanks. Its Re-Ranch supplies for the finish. I did this guitar out of left over parts that didn't work on other projects. I was going to give it away, but then I fell in love with it, and its my number 1 now. It has regular black strat knobs on it now.

Yeah it's a Kahler Spyder. Its pretty nice the only thing I don't like about it is how the bar screws in. Thanks though! It's pretty much one of the best guitars I've played. I love it :3

Re: Glamour Shots

Here's my latest baby. Got her in july this summer.
A Hagström Viking Deluxe 12.
She's fine as-is at the moment, tho I wouldn't mind being able to coil split the pups, so might get some push/pulls in the future.

Re: Glamour Shots

man that neck looks easy on the mitts.

It feels nice. No finish required so it never gets sticky. It's actually not the fastest neck I ever played, but it lends itself well to more blues type playing. The neck gives the guitar a more "smokey" type of tone than normal. I originally got the neck for another project but it sounded too dark. It works cool with swamp ash in this case.

Re: Glamour Shots

Oops my bad. I didn't notice that it was 12 string. I apologize. What pickups do you use on it.

It's the stock Hagström humbuckers. As I said, they're good for now, but I'd like to be able to coil split in the future.
Only had the guitar for barely 4 months, so I'm not ready to mod it yet. :P

View attachment 32583Some pics of instruments I've built. The one is patterned after a Stienburger. It's book matched quilted maple with alder on the back, transtrem, Duncan PU's, master vol and tone with a 3 way, and a 27 5/8" or 28 5/8" scale 24 fret graphite neck with a 6 on a side peg head. The other is patterned after an Ibanez. It's a black walnut body, Goto bridge, vol for each PU with master tone, and a 35" scale 5 string fretless graphite neck. I do not remember what the PU's are. I built these between 14 and 18 years ago. Sorry about pic quality, they are phone pics of old pics.
