I've had this guitar kicking around for a few years:

An old (90's iirc) USA Peavey Reactor. It was always a pretty good guitar, but it was fairly beat up, and I felt like it was finally time to take the skills I've learned over my 9 years of playing guitar, learn a bunch of new ones, and turn this into something completely different. Here's what it looked like a few days ago:

Since then, I've done a bit of work. I added a belly contour. It still needs a good bit of work, but it's about 75% done.

I also beveled the edges. I had thought about doing a forearm contour but this gives a similar effect of making the edge more comfortable to rest your arm on without having to do all of that woodwork. Plus, I love bevels.

I need to pick up some wood filler to even out the spots where I went too deep with the dremel, but after that I should be moving on to the next step. I've got a lot of big ideas for this project, the most mundane of which will be learning how to fret a guitar so that I can put SS frets on it (and for another reason, but that's secret). I was thinking about learning how to do nuts too but those are much cheaper than frets so we'll see. Yeah, I'm a bit of a bastard for keeping the details secret, but I like surprises. And believe me, if this turns out the way I'm hoping, it will be so worth it.
I'll try to keep this updated as I go along, but there will probably be a few stretches where I don't update for a while as I've got a ton of different parts and tools to acquire.
