I am looking at a new power amp for pushing monitors. Everything out there right now seems like over kill. I don't need 500watts per side LOL! But i don't know how much is too little either... Right now I have a dinosaur Peavey 3000 (single channel 300 watts) and that has got just enough volume, but I want a 2 channel amp and something smaller than 4 rack spaces! One channel is going to be running 2 sonic 12" monitors, the other one is going to my drummer with a sonic 15" (but I threw an EV 350 watt bad boy in there.... hehehe he has NEVER complained that he couldn't hear anything!)
So should I buy more than what I need or should I look at a smaller power amp?
