Hi,
I have a lot of DVD and instructional books on techniques like playing sweep arpeggios, doing scalar runs, and stuff like that. However, I have yet to find a DVD that shows you how to apply these concepts to your own scales or how to form arpeggios within a scale. The problem I'm having is that I have the techniques down, but I don't know how to form them with the scales I'm using. For instance, I'm using Rusty Cooley's Sweep Manifesto DVD and he shows a lick like an A major arpeggio. However, this obviously wouldn't sound right in the harmonic minor scale if not played properly. Any of you guys know of a good DVD that teaches these concepts of forming arpeggios and applying licks and scalar runs rather than just showing examples that aren't relevant to what you're playing?
