I am reposting this because I screwed up the first one.
Just bought 2 cheap guitars for $59. One is a Lotus Strat copy and the other is a Fender Starcaster. They are both in excellent condition and the action on them is nice but they need an upgrade in the sound department.
I like all forms of rock from classic to thrash and a dab of funk every once in a while. I have a Marshall JCM 900 high gain tube half stack and I like playing through a Vox Tonelab to get some of those crunchier sounds. I currently play a Gibson Les Paul and a Gibson SG but haven't gone the strat direction yet. The sounds I am getting from the Strat copies are a little weak. I want more punch but at the same time I am wanting something versatile so I can play stuff from Zeppelin to Hendrix to Chili Peppers to Pantera....Any experience/advice with pickups in either one of these guitars? The Lotus has a S-S-S configuration and the Starcaster has a H-S-S configuration.
