Got Another One Back!!!

I have this problem about making long term equipment loans to friends. Someone may remember a few weeks ago that I finally got back a guitar that I lent a friend a year or so ago. Today I picked up an amp that's been on loan to a friend for well over a year. The last time I saw this amp was prior to Christmas 2004. Please help me in welcoming back my 1962 Gibson Falcon (GA19-RVT)!!

Re: Got Another One Back!!!

congrats

I had a Gibson like that ... it was either a Falcon or Hawk or something.
I didn't think it sounded all that great, but there are some Gibson's that do sound pretty good.

Like Ampegs though, some use some unusual, hard to find tubes.

This is your typical 6v6 amp. It's a great sounding amp, it records really well. I haven't used it live in a long time, it needs to be around 7-8 to sound "good," and that can be a bit loud as far as stage volume. When I was using it at practice, I'd put a pillow in front of it and crank it.

I know the preamps are 6EU7's, and I think the rectifier is a 5y3...

The only thing that keeps this amp from being a complete classic is the cabinet- it's not as thick, solid and "roadworthy" as a comparable Fender amp.
