Got JTM45 GAS again..........

Re: Got JTM45 GAS again..........

Dunno about that Craig, but it uses KT66 valves, so I'd imagine you'd get nice fat cleans. The VM allows you to get that "jumpered channels" sound too. This just gives added versatility to the already great basic sounds.
I reckon you should try one, and then let us know what you think. I'd be really interested cos I don't have a hope of seeing one in Gib!!!

I remember reading somwehere that they used KT66s, but it just never really 'clicked' in my head so to speak :nervous:

I thin a shop a few miles away from me has 1 of these instock ,so I might go and give 1 a try :)

***EDIT*** I've checked online and for CHEAPER than 1 of the 50w Vintage Modern heads, I've found a guy that will build me a JTM45 clone with custom features, so I don't know how much of an option these VMs now are :D

A cutom amp under 400 pounds, with custom options...? Do tell me who!

The custom amp isn't under £400 mate.

The cheapest I've found a VM 50w for on the net was £669, and the custom built is cheaper ;)

Re: Got JTM45 GAS again..........

Just had a look on their site. Looks cool!! What are your plans for your custom build?

I want just a 'standard' looking amp with chicken head knobs and maybe that London Power Scaling fitted aswell. I've been quoted £90 for the fitting of the Power Scaling stuff, and it seems like a great idea!

Also more than likely KT66 valves in it too :)

In a big ole country like England....that's what I was going to suggest. There has GOT to be some old Marshall afficionados there who build custom clones. No need to look to USA, we learned that stuff from you!

Yeah, but didn't Jim Marshall learn that from a fender Bassman? :D
