Yes, the pup is very sensitive to height.. .

What do you have your string height on both sides Bloodrose?

4/16ths of an inch from top of pup on the low E and 5/16ths on the High E. This is alot lower than I run most pups.

so, what do you guys have your Crazy 8's paired with? how do they sound in conjunction? I'm using mine with an HB101N, but I'm thinking about changing to a jazz.

I really love my crazy 8. to the point that this guitar has become my new number 1 since I put the pick-up in.

Mine is in my Charvel 4 and I have the stock singles in it.. I dont use them much.. I do find myself playing the guitar all the time since I put the Crazy 8 in. I also found that wiring it normally was out of phase and sounded thin and tinny with the other pups. I had to switch the wires..

Mine is paired with a Phat Cat. Gotta take the axe back in, though. The PC is shorting out, and that was NOT a problem prior to the installation of the C-8.

I got mine! finally!! I almost broke my neck on it ,it was placed on my front porch step last night and I never heard the UPS truck, so I stepped on the corner of the box at 5:30am and almost busted my arse, I was afraid I broke the plastic box but it was intact.

Ok I was gunna put this in my EPI goth LP but this PuP is too cool for my EPI,I dont like the neck or frets ...so..I searched ebay I got a deal ($158)on another SZ and thats where shes goin in a brand new black SZ320 , I still have that screamin demon to try in the neck with it.....stay tuned

I love my SZ520QM with the CC / jazz combo , but now I have too many guitars, I guess I have 2 project guitars and a Ibanez roadstar/proline hybrid that will be hitting the auction block

Anyway..I have to wait some more now for delivery of my new axe to put the Crazy8 in but Im stoked, I got it I got it I got it:banana::dance::fest7::fest6::headbang:

I got the first one yesterday. I am trying to resist the urge to do the install on it untill I get the second one. The second one I had the tab holes drilled oversize in as it will be installed in my Stevie Salas sig USA custom shop Washburn and is direct mounted. The reason for the oversize hole is Washburn uses inserts in the body and then a just under 1/8 diameter machine screw on the actual pickup mount. I don't want to drill the first one for the install that way if the pickup does not thrill me I can sell the undrilled one :naughty: .
If I love it then I will drill the tabs on both and install the other one in my USA MG 100 also with the direct mount. Man I HATE the wait as this thing just looks :14:!!

OK, I installed my Crazy 8, so far it is a WINNER! I couldnt turn it up becasue my son is sleeping right now but, I will lean on it later. Seems TIGHT, TONS of clarity, and a JB like singing quality when soloing. Did I mention TIGHT? Did I mention sick Harmonics?

BTW, I have a Jazz bridge in the neck with it, that is a winner too and the Jazz bridge seems to match VERY well with it.

I will report back.

I could totally see that. I'm using mine with a Jazz neck model right now. It needs a little more power to balance with the crazy 8 IMO, so I bet the bridge is just the ticket.

I'm impressed enough with the crazy 8 that I'll be getting a CS '78 set for a new axe I'm working on; the CS does excellent work.

I wish I could get a crazy 8 in purple.. I really love the harmonics from this beast... Next Duncan I try is gonna be a regular PATB. I know the PATB 3 rocks, and the Crazy 8 rocks..

Hahah.Everybody knows how i like the PATB design!And i was like really sad as i began to play seven string guitars and couldn't use the crazy 8!So i e-mailed Derek and he said "it won't be as nice ,but we will do it" ahahah!!!
I am really happy ,even if wouldn't fit my guitar,i would buy it ahahah
I am excited ,and really counting days and hours to get the puppy!
I am going to post some clips!
BTW ,the chances are that my paint mine to orange ahah.
Purple is a great idea Odie!But Neon Orange is my choice ahah
