I'll keep this short, but I completely rewired my Green buddy yesterday as my bridge TV Jones Supertron arrived way early (he said it'd take 7-10 days to ship out from Tuesday, it arrived on Saturday
).
Anyways, I've got the treble bleed mod courtesy of Matt (MartinSixStrings) and it sounds awesome. I also went with high value Orange Drop caps, instead of the crappy other ones that were in there before. Also upgraded to all cloth wiring. And the coolest thing? When I install the neck pup (I'll order it in August), I have two long things of wire coming out that I solder the leads onto, instead of having to take the whole rig out again.
I'm almost smart!
You may be wondering how it sounds. Well, it sounds perfect, and I mean that with no hyperbole. I'll have more accurate results when my amps get back, but it's perfect.
So all told, took me 5 hours instead of the 16 it took last time. Somebody's learning!
Sorry the pics are big:
The old pup being taken out. Not much more to report.
The old pickup ring was about 1 mm too small on the top and bottom, so I ha to sand. Took like 2 hours, cause I only had 1500 grit. *sigh* Came out pretty good though.
Not the clearest pic, but here it is. Very good fit.
I think it looks pretty sick! Imagine a Classic in the neck. My only amp in the background (until the others get out of the shop lol).
Last, just a zoomed out view. Nothing you haven't seen before here.
