It brings a tear to my eye how beautiful these amps are Scott. And of course how great they must sound. You do great work on these. The cherry cabinet is really nice looking. Seeing these amps makes me want to rob a bank so I can buy one
Terry, I had them build the head an extra inch taller like yours. It definitely helps keep the heat down. I still put several layers of metallic heat tape on the inside of the top piece just in case.
I've been outside playing it through my Bluesbreaker 2x12 with the two Mojo G12H30's in it. Outstanding stuff. P90's are my favorite pups in this amp. Strat/Tele singles and humbuckers sound great, but something about a P90 Les Paul through this sucka. I've got that Alinco 5 Antiquity humbucker that I sort of put together at the User Group day in the neck and it just RUMBLES. (actually MJ did most of the work, pushing me out of the way when I wasn't going fast enough! )
We tried to put in the Deep Switch from the fender/*umble mod, but the values of the tone pots weren't the same and it didn't sound right. But, otherwise, I hope he's happy. His patience has been beyond that of Job. I'm just glad to finally be back in the groove amp-wise.
Man, that's the one I want! I was sitting here gawking at that amp, and Anabel walked across the room, stopped, and said "wow, that's a beautiful amp"........trust me, she usually doesn't pay any attention to gear pics!
