Granite big blocks--anyone tried them?

www.floydupgrades.com had Adam Reiver and his somewhat expensive big blocks tempting us to part with our money for a while.

Now Floyd Rose is selling granite sustain blocks. Anyone tried them?

Also, I'm trying to get flutter out of my import Jackson licensed JT580LP bridges, but it isn't happening. They're an okay bridge for a licensed one, so I'd rather spring for a block than an entire new OFR, since tuning for me isn't a huge issue (although my 15+ year old bridges do drop a half step sometimes). What makes a bigger difference on flutter ability, the block, or the bridge itself?

And yes I've seen dmomguitar's videos on YouTube talking about flutter. :)

Thanks.

An OFR flutters a lot less than that the JT580LP. There's also a big difference in the basic tone of the two bridges. The Jackson sounds and feels softer and mushier, which is nice for some kinds of sounds. Overall, I like the OFR a lot more. It's snappier and has a sharper attack, kind of like a good Strat bridge compared to some of the overdamped two-point copies with solid alloy saddles.

LP, do you think a JT with a bigger block would be a good compromise? Mine dips, but it doesn't flutter.

I'm a little concerned about block alloy and going too big. I like a lot of movement, smooth action, and range (about a 4th) like a Kahler, but flutter too.

Some people say Kahlers don't flutter, and they don't seem to as well. I've seen others say they do, and seen examples of Kahler flutter, but have yet to try one on my own.
