Hi guys! I need your help fast. I was looking at a local shop's website recently and I just checked up on whats new and found this:

This summer I was planning on buying another strat anyway and I've been wanting a floyd rose for a LONG time. Althought I was planning on going american (I have a MIM standard now) I know the artists series are generally of a higher quality build. I also noticed it is not a liscened FR but a floyd rose II, I know these are lower then an origional floyd rose but I have read so far good things about them (xept in the pictures this one doesnt lock at the nut...could I add on a locking nut?). This is a really cheap price and has me wondering but It seems pretty cool! I've been quickly scanning and have seen them for 400+ american $.

So does anyone have any experience, opinions etc on this?? Thanks a bunch.

That is a sweet guitar man, I'd go for it. I'd buy it if I had the money. Class-Axe definitely has some sweet deals.

You can get the things missing from the locking nut pretty cheap so that isn't a problem, good price too.
Just keep in mind that the floyd isn't receased, if that isn't a problem i would definitly go for it.

Great Guitar.....eh !!!!!

Maybe you will get more gas when you go to get your new axe and see some of those nice old fender amps at Class Axe

Mortgage rates are quite good these days...those amps sure look sweet

For the money it looks like a sweet deal.

At worst you could likely flip it for what you paid for it.

If you really like it then you may find the Floyd Rose II is lacking a bit. I remember them to be not terribly top quality. I'd be just as inclined to block the thing both ways and play it as is.

You may want to look into retro-fitting the bridge. I do know on some Ibanez' you can unload the cheap original trems with OFR's and the difference is night and day with them.

that is a pretty great deal in Canadian cash for sure....

i've been thinking about a New MIM Floyd equiped Standard Strat... they are over $600 Canadian.. $700 after taxes.... this axe is pretty much the same thing but has a Dimarzio in the bridge

Thanks for the advice! I went and got it last night. I'm bringing it to the local shop to have it setup with my strings, have a couple little thingslooked at etc. I'll post a thread later on! Basically I got a sweet deal and am very hapy, this thing plays and sounds amazing!

The only things that could make that guitar cooler are a maple fretboard w/ star inlays and the case starts playing the solo to wanted dead or alive when you open it.

My .02 on the Floyd that's on it. It's a schaller made lic. Copy. Schaller makes the originals as well but that one is their take. From my experience if set up properly, they will stay in tune just as well as an OFR. Also the tone is warmer and the top end doesn't seem to be as brittle on these than their non lic. couterparts.

W/ a little TLC that could be one super bad guitar! Here's a link to get the replacement parts you need. I'd invest in a wrench holder for the back as well ;)!

I brought it in to the local shop today to have it setup with my strings and few things looked at, when it comes back ill make a new thread explaining EVERYTHING as well as LOTS of pics!

Excellent, just tell them to hurry up. I'd still like to have a Sambora Strat, especially the white one. I might just have to sell one of my daughters!!
