Guitar Porn

Re: Guitar Porn

Diggin' the McNaught ... always liked his guitars but am never willing to pony up the dough (so to speak) for that quality of work ..My loss I guess

Re: Guitar Porn

Marty....very nice guitars. If a guy could only have 3 guitars EVER, you have 3 of the best. The only thing I would add to that collection is a Strat, just for a little different sound, but that's it. Love the McNaught. I have thought about pulling the trigger on one of those, and may in the future. Is it similar at all to the PRS or LP, or just a completely different sound?

Re: Guitar Porn

nice choice on only having three guitars. there's tons of guys who have loads of mediocre gear when they could have 3 top quality axes like yours. although, if I were you, i would feel scared even playing those guitars. they're too nice for me to want to dent or scratch.

Re: Guitar Porn

Thanks everyone,
To answer your question Jeff, The PRS and McNaught are similar in the 2 humbucking, 5 way switch wiring but sound very different. The PRS is solid and the McNaught is chambered, and the pickups are very different. The Dragon 2s have a warm vintage sweetness to them while the Rio Grandes are very aggressive, in your face pickups. Both sound great in both humbucking and single coil modes.

Re: Guitar Porn

Two Headed Boy,
I do worry about dinging them up but life is short and I bought these guitars to play. I am a full time gigging musician 5 nights a week, 50 weeks a year. The mcNaught gets 90 % of the playing time and it was the most expensive of the 3. If I'm doing an outdoor gig I'll always use the PRS which was the cheapest of the 3 but I just try to be as careful as possible with all of them.
