Very NICE collection.

That SG is my pick of the bunch !

Re: Guitars of Yesterday

Yes, such a shame, isn't it? Really dig the G&Ls, and the SG that Sir Jack highlighted. Had a Classic 50s Strat for a bit myself, pretty cool guitar!

Re: Guitars of Yesterday

Which is why I seldom sell guitars, the only one I had and parted with was a pretty decent axe but was more than covered by the ones I have so I honestly never give it any thought.

On the other hand I feel I could part with one just to make room for another that I cannot currently justify...

Cool thread.

Now forward to fresh GAS, and the Guitars of Tomorrow!

Re: Guitars of Yesterday

Damn. I think I fell in love!

That was a fun project guitar....

Started off with brand new Lonestar, but I didn't like the HSS config. The Pearly Gates way overpowered the output volume of the Texas Specials.

Traded it for a maple neck Roadhouse Strat. But I didn't like the maple neck. Sold it on ebay and bought another Lonestar neck...

Bit by bit, changed all the hardware to gold. By far, the prettiest Strat I've had.

That was the first, and possible only guitar that really did play like butter! Action was really sweet, and I loved that tremolo system.

Love the P90 growl, but the thin neck eventually led me to part with it.
