Guitars that you like just the way they came

Re: Guitars that you like just the way they came

2004 Dean USA Pro Series Z

Hard to believe this is considered a factory second. Spot the Flaw. :23:

Needs a Floyd :D

I bought a Jackson Ellefson import bass a couple of years ago that was sold cheap as "scratch and dent" - been looking for the flaws for 2 years

Sometimes dealers tag 'em that way just to get a sale.

Fender tom delonge signature. Bought it literally for what it is. A stupidly simple stripped down strat. Love every piece on it and won't change anything.

Old school Kramer Barettas. I'm talking 80's models. Single JB, Floyd Rose, comfortable feeling neck. First time I strapped one on it was like putting on those favorite pair of jeans. I love my '88 Baretta. Granted, when I got it used, the stock pickup was not in it but that was remedied as I found an 80's JBJ on eBay after owning it for 10 years and got it situated. Off the wall new, I remember trying them and loving them as-is.

I kick myself every day for getting rid of my Kramer '85 RI Baretta

Out of phase option, bypass all volume and tone controls for hotter sound and split coil. Add the koa top.perfect for me.Love this guitar!

Yep the lil wood imperfections are the reason for the B stock. Guitar is a sweetie though and light at 8lbs.

And NO, it DOESN'T Need a Floyd! : popworm: :saeek:

Some other sweet looking guitars in here too! :headbang:

My 60s Tribute LP Studio. I had plans, man. And then I heard what it sounded like out of the box. Those pickups aren't going ANYWHERE.

Re: Guitars that you like just the way they came

My Jackson Adrian Smith, Fender Dave Murray Strat and Fender 62 Hot Rod RI Strat are all perfect. Except for truss rod and trem adjustments, the Adrian Smith and the 62 are "no screws turned" they're so good.

Re: Guitars that you like just the way they came

I thought all guitars were just starter kits. Kinda like Harleys.

Re: Guitars that you like just the way they came

This would be the only guitar I wouldn't mod.

Gretsch G6120SSUGR

Already has Sperzels tuners, buttons for Schaller straplocks, TV Classics (new ones seem to have Setzer's Signature TV's), Bigsby Flat Handle, Delrin nut, and the bridge is already pinned.

And it's purdy.

I actually have quite a few that fit this criteria. Here is the Ernie Ball Axis Super Sport with MM90's & piezo. Like butter. I get so much flexibility of tone, it gets the most use.

Re: Guitars that you like just the way they came

My Ibanez SZ320 would have been perfectly fine with it's stock pickups and a new bone nut. And straplocks.
But I couldn't resist the idea of a more specialized sound. :D

I'd have to vote for this, an 83 Peavey T-20. It was dead-nuts reliable (could go from warm, dry house into the car in sub-freezing temps, back into warm house and stay in tune. I NEVER adjusted the truss rod, even with our stupid humidity changes over the year) It sounded GREAT, really sensetive pickup could sound like a bass with 2 (or more) pups with just picking/fingering changes), it was just a really good sounding, solid bass. And it was USA made, but cost $250, or like 1/4 of what a USA fender would have been. I only sold it because a guy had and sold one like it, and offered me more than I paid for it for mine. You know the drill, shoulda kept it.
