Wow! There are a lot of gorgeous custom graphic guitars in this thread. Thanks to all who have contributed thus far. Keep 'em coming!!!

Re: * Guitars With Cool Graphic Paint Thread *

Do you still have all those guitars Mutt? I love the RG swirl and pink paisley Strat. Didn't realive Fender issued SRV model in paisley.

Unfortunately no; several I wished I had back though - BCR Graffiti and Lightning Sky, Ibby Swirl and SRV Pink Paisley in particular.

The SRV Pink Paisley was a Mutt Build with '92 SRV Neck and an '88 MIJ Pink Paisley Body. Went together great and was an awesome player...SRV Neck was incredible.

I think his works look pretty crude. Looks like they were made by hand using a chisel as opposed to power tools. I hope I don't get chastised for this ;)

That was my first build and considering the length of the neck and how stable it is i think i did ok.

It's ok man not everyone can be a fan. But with a comment like that i am beginning to think we have actually encountered each other before,

Not sure if this fits the bill or not... it's not painted graphics, but clear epoxy over char and scarring from a house fire about 20 years ago. Made a very cool and unique finish, is perfectly smooth, and this guitar is STILL my #1 even after owning it for almost 30 years!

It must be close to lunch, I thought I read "epoxy over char broiled" lol

I definitely say it fits the bill, cool story about an axe that basically has been to hell and back.

first of all, you come off like a jerk by saying that. second, some of the best instruments the world will ever hear have been made by hand tools.

Indonesia LOL

if this is true, he would be banned but there is no evidence of that

Have you actually had any experience with Gotoh? It is much better than the German OFR. Just because it's a licensed doesn't mean it's crap. Also, take a look at the Ibanez Edge, also by Gotoh. It's far superior than the German FR. Smoother and better handling cause the bar is longer and straighter than that on FR, better grip on the fine tuners (the grooves are rougher than those on OFR); plus, the bar is push-in, as opposed to using a collar like the German FR. Tighter and more practical. On the FR you actually have to wrap a plumber's tape around the collar in order for the bar to stay still.

There is a reason Steve Vai has abuses the Edge for that last 28 years. I can't recall anyone who holds his guitar up with only the bar and yet it stays intact.

Ibanez Original Edge (the one in the very first Jem in 1987) is often claimed to surpass original FR.

The only good bridges are the Ibanez Edge and Gotoh. The Gotoh even comes with a brass block stock, like the ones in Fernandes Japan. No upgrade required.

No Its the same guy. Has the same guitars, talks about the same bridges and is rude as Indonesia gets.

Oh yeah and the IP? hmmmmm

Re: * Guitars With Cool Graphic Paint Thread *

I'm actually a pretty big fan of Kramersteen's work. I like the rough edges on Shinobi. I think its creative and edgy. Who says all guitars have to be LP/Strat/Tele lookalikes?

I can appreciate the refined and smooth builds the come from Orpheo and Chaoz as well, but there's something special about the rough look. Musicians are supposed to be "outside the box" type thinkers. Why can't their instruments show some personality, too?
