H-H Pearly Gates

2 4 wire Pearly gates sets ordered.

Going in my 76 Ibanez Artist.

2 Volume, 2 Done, 3 Way Switch

NO Push/Pull pots

but it also has a 2 way mini-toggle installed (6 leads on back) with it that i would like to utilize to throw the humbuckers into single coil mode, and run the main Pickup selector/volume to control the blend when the switch is activated.

I am in need or wiring diagrams and advice for this, and this place seem to be where to ask.

Thanks

Jeff

Re: H-H Pearly Gates

welcome to the forum!

the two diagrams below show what you need, the top has the overall guitar wiring, the bottom has the split wiring. you can split both pups on one switch by using both sides. someone with more skillz might be able to put them together for ya

Thanks for the help Jeremy, would you happen to have any diagrams that use a micro toggle instead of the PUSH-PULL pots?

Thanks again.

Re: H-H Pearly Gates

the wiring is the same on a dp/dt toggle switch or the push/pull pot

Re: H-H Pearly Gates

Here's something I learned that helps with coil splits. I got a strat back in the day that had a pearly gates set. I though the bridge was too thin so I did some research and found out that you can put a 4.7k resistor in series with the wire that sends the split coil to ground. It gives it more low end and deals with the volume drop. It also gives removes an almost negligible amount of hum. It's what PRS does on their guitars. They call it a tuned coil split if I remember right.
