I was wanting to know If what Im hearing in the soundclips on the emg site is what im getting. Its been pretty truthful on the 81 and 85.

I just read a few reviews that said they are low output, but the soundclips seem to be higher output then the EMG-89 I have in the bridge of my BC rich.

So, Anyone know?

Telecaster set? They are actually quite good sounding. You get a pretty good traditional tele sound with a little EMG flavor. Not bad at all.

With a good high gain amp, will they be able to do metal, with a little tele twist?

Sure can. They will still have that tele bite. They are like big fat quiet single coils with punch and bite like a tele. Pretty accurate to the sound clips.

That soundclip depicts the sound I've wanted since I started playing guitar, so thats prolly the set for me! :D Thanks.

Good luck, I haven't used them in a while so report back on how you like them. They were a pretty unique set. Tele when you want it clean but mean also if you need it to be.

I love the sound of the strat SD Surfer Antiquities in my tele - but the hum I could do without. I might give the EMG T set a try.

Keep in mind EMG makes two different T sets.

I love the EMG tele set, I would say you can get Brad Paisley and Vince Gill tones with it. It all depends on the options you use. If you use no options (ie - SPC, Mid Boost) it sounds like an EMG flavored, very true to life Tele sound that doesn't get microphonic or hum.

That being said, they are evry EMG. Closest thing in my mind is a lace sensor - a tad "sterile", a little too hi fi, much too perfect. It sounds exactly like the guitar itself, but lacking that classic character good pickups might give.

it seems like i am the only one that thinks that the emg sound samples on their website suck and certainly are not doing justice to their otherwise very good pickups..............
