Haunted packrat

This morning I was playing on the dirty setting of the packrat and when I stopped playing I could barely make out a faint voice which seemed to be preaching some sort of christian sermon. It was most present right when I stopped playing a(which wasn't Alot) and seemed to fade away. It only happened when I had the pedal on? It is Sunday today so it wouldn't be out of place for local radio to be playing such content. I'm wandering if it's possible something in the packrat was picking up radio frequencies? I don't have an answer for what happened but it was very weird. Anybody have any idea what's going on here?

The phenomenon was repeatable this morning, when I plug in tonight I will see if I can still hear anything.

I've had issues like that a few times but never specifically with a pedal. I always thought it was a poorly shielded cable acting as an antenna in my case.

I've run into the case where a higher gain pedal with certain pickups will get radio stations. Usually happens with fuzzes for me.

I had that happen with a Crybaby. There was a radio broadcast tower not far away either. When we took a break from playing, I left it on and we listening to the hockey game....LOL. It just so happened that station is what came through.

It happens. There is a venue downtown on the river, with a huge glass window behind the stage, which is very close to several local radio stations. My friend's old Super Reverb would pull in a broadcast unless he positioned it in front of the wall to the side of the window.

Turn the pedal 90 degrees horizontally, and try vertically and see if it mitigates it

I must say I'm quite intrigued with the concept of a haunted Packrat.

If it ever tells you, "GET. OUT!" it's probably just playing with you.

That happened to The Police when recording the song "Does Everyone Stare" and they kept it in the song.

"I recorded the demo for that at home. I had a little home studio at the time with wires going everywhere - I think I was running the guitar through the toaster, that sort of thing - and I was playing the piano part while I sang the song, or at least what was supposed to be the lyrics of the song. And just as I finished singing, all the wires in the room acted like a radio and picked up a signal of this opera. It was perfectly in time and perfectly in tune, even the mood and sentiment of the thing were absolutely perfect. So it went straight on tape, exactly in the place that it should have gone. It had to be a message from above that this was the way the song had to go. So we actually used that, my home demo, at the beginning of the studio recording."
