Re: Helix
I've been following Helix Native on thegearpage & Line 6's Helix Native [and Helix hardware] forums since I heard about Helix Native. They've been saying snapshots weren't ready in time, but they wouldn't be stomped on, as long as they weren't edited.
Opposite? Here's the Helix Native Pilot's Guide (manual) on it: "Snapshot Assignments At this time, Helix hardware "Snapshots" are not supported in Helix Native. Therefore, if you import a preset exported from Helix hardware that includes snapshot controller assignments, the preset will load within Helix Native with the last-saved snapshot and its settings in use. Edits that you make to options that may affect the snapshot-assigned options (such as the bypass state of blocks, parameter values, etc.) will overwrite the snapshot controller settings within the loaded snapshot. No Snapshot other than the loaded one is otherwise affected, thus all other snapshot data is retained in the preset when exported from Helix Native and imported back into Helix hardware."
Manual also says maximum of 3 computers simultaneously for one license.
"If it makes you feel better, 2.30 is not ready. Ben and Sam are still working on models and development of at least one (small) feature hasn't even begun. Best guess: 5 new amps, 7 new effects." --Digital Igloo, post #1167 on TGP Helix Native Plug-In thread
Later, after discussing Helix Native almost certainly shipping this week [now up to a certainty, though they haven't announced whether it's later today, tomorrow, or thursday]: "The meetings are now all about Helix Native 1.01 and 1.10/HX Edit 2.30." --Digital Igloo, later on in TGP thread.
If you are happy with the Fractal, you should continue to use it.
Ive been hearing opposite regarding snapshots on the Helix FB page. There are L6 reps as well as users who participated in the beta tests on the page.
I'll be getting Native, especially since it can be loaded on up to 4 computers. I won't use it often, but it would be great for it to be on the computer used to mix our band's recordings.
