Alrighty. It's getting down to the nitty gritty with both of my Iceman assemblies. It's going to be awhile before I can shoot them with nitro because of the cold weather, but i might as well go ahead and get everything to get them ready to go.

I already know what I'm going to do with the purple one. It's going to have gold hardware and a set of Seymour Duncan Livewires in it. The Livewires arrived today.:)

It's going to have a maple neck with a rosewood fretboard and mother of pearl dot inlays. However, I'm still not sure on what shape headstock I'm going to go with. I do however know that it and the blue one will both have reverse headstocks, and I will be covering and staining a veneer on the headstocks to match the body.

So, what do you think? It would be really cool if one of you awesome dudes could do a little photoshop work for me.;) I sure would appreciate it!!

Anyways, I'm thinking the reverse Explorer shape first and foremost.

Second, I like the Warhead. I was thinking about taking it and maybe taking a dremel or something to it and carving a bit out of it to emphasize it's dick head to match the one on the Iceman body...lol

Third, and last for me personally would be the reverse Jackson style headstock. The only reason for that pretty much is just because it's a little too pointy for me, but it doesn't bother me that bad.

So, what is your opinion/vote? Thanks in advance!!:)

Why not a reverse Ibanez?

Why not a reverse Ibanez?

Because I need a 12" radius for the tune o matic bridge. Plus, I prefer that radius, and I can get closer to the neck shape that I like as well.

I meant the headstock, not the actual neck. ;)

I'm assuming that you're going to order the neck specifically, so wouldn't they offer a reverse Ibanez headstock? (Alternatively, just shape it yourself from a paddle?)

I'm going to order it from Warmoth, I reckon. That headstock has never really appealed to me anyways.

Re: Help Me Choose A Headstock Shape For My Purple Iceman Assembly

I voted reverse warhead. It's something you don't see everyday and it would look quite good.

Re: Help Me Choose A Headstock Shape For My Purple Iceman Assembly

I think the reverse warhead would look best as well. I don't really think of the Iceman as a 'pointy' and I really hate the looks of pointy headstocks on non-pointy guitars.

By the way, is that purple binding on the body? Nice touch!

I like the banana, the top pick. Which one is that in the other lingo?

I just hadn't cleaned it all off yet when that pic was taken...lol. It's white, but I do kind of dig it with a purple hint.

Re: Help Me Choose A Headstock Shape For My Purple Iceman Assembly

I reckon Reverse Warhead would look pretty good.

Re: Help Me Choose A Headstock Shape For My Purple Iceman Assembly

I like the pointy one that looks like you could hurt yourself with it.

I dig that Iceman....can u make me an Iceman 7?

Re: Help Me Choose A Headstock Shape For My Purple Iceman Assembly

I really like the Explorer headstock with it. I think that would look the best honestly ('3')

Re: Help Me Choose A Headstock Shape For My Purple Iceman Assembly

I'd go explorer myself. The warhead could be cool, but I'd feel like I had to have a tilt back on it, not sure how that would look, it's kinda fendery, and fender tilt backs look odd to me.

I like where this project is going.

Re: Help Me Choose A Headstock Shape For My Purple Iceman Assembly

I'd say Jackson. After you mentioned the dick-head on the warhead (lol), I thought it would look a little silly. Maybe for a wangcaster esque guitar.

Re: Help Me Choose A Headstock Shape For My Purple Iceman Assembly

Reverse warhead is what I voted! It seems the other head-stocks don't match that particular body style like the warhead does. Go warhead, or go home.:banghead:

Re: Help Me Choose A Headstock Shape For My Purple Iceman Assembly

I vote for reverse Warhead, but only because standard Explorer was not an option. Barring the standard Explorer head, I'd take that stock Warhead shape and cut the "hook" a little sharper to match the lower horn.

Re: Help Me Choose A Headstock Shape For My Purple Iceman Assembly

I also went with the reverse Warhead mainly because it NEARLY matches the lower horn of the guitar. I would probably do a little extra work and get the headstock shape even closer to the lower horn profile. With the colour matched veneer it will look pretty darn BAD-ASS!
