Help with Vintage Rail

This is really dumb... but I lost my instruction sheet for my Vintage Rail... I'm rewiring my pots and completely pulled everything apart. The green and bare wires are soldered together... but I can't tell if they were wired to ground... I don't think they were. :smack:

Are they supposed to be? I would think they should, but I don't think I did it. It was playing just fine... so I'm hesitant to attach these wires to ground without some kind of verification.

:question: So - should they be wired to ground? If so, why did the pickup work? :question:

Yup. Green and bare to ground, black to hot.
