Re: Help Worrying About Guitar
I have obsessive compulsive disorder myself and am in the process of gettin over this kind of thing you are going through. I bought a Les Paul back in 2004 played it once and didnt since recently because I was afraid it would get a few scratchs. Mostly I'd just take it out of its case to show people. My step dad made a good point when he realized I hadn't been playing the guitar much after I bought it. He said to me "guitars are mean't to be played and if your not gonna play it whats the point in having it?" I've come to the realization that the guitar will never stay in the perfect condition it was in when I bought it. Because guitars are meant to be used light scratches will appear here and there and youll be like where did that come from? Theres no way to stop the normal wear and tear of a guitar. Why stress about something like normal wear which you have no control over? I can guarantee you that everyone on the forum has scratches and other minor imperfections on their guitar or guitars. Stop worrying and relax dude. Guitar is supposed to be fun and be your escape from reality.

I wonder if you can help me, ive just purchased a back glossy Poly Finish guitar....and cant stop worrying about it..
I have OCD and instead of playing the guitar I cant stop checking it for flaws or worrying about tiny marks that are in the finish (not on top but in it, I think that they are called Angel Hairs and its where it has been buffed between coats)
These are only visible if you hold it under a really bright light and look very close at certain angles......
You cant see them from a distance with or without light.....
Can anyone please let me know if these marks are normal and if it is anything to worry about
Also I have purchased the Fender / Meguir Instrument care kit and a Fender Microfiber cloth, is this safe to use?
Sorry last thing how often should I clean / wipe down the guitar
Thanks
Lee
