Here's another intro, stuck again! :p

Re: Here's another intro, stuck again! :p

sounds good to me.the intro is not good as your normal work.but the rythm and the progress is cool.Maybe a key difference or rythm difference would be cool!

Well, it has a hard pounding rythm mostly provided by the drums but hardly any melody. I assume you're gonna use vocals for the melody? If you need ideas for the bridge then I suggest that you begin with the percussion since that's what I feel is driving the tune mostly.

At the bridge you should intensify the rythm by double timing the drums. Like pounding the hell out of the toms and lower frequency drums w/ 16th note rythms. Almost like an indian on the warpath type of sound! Make it sound psycopated and savagely tribal! Once the drum rythm for the bridge is established, I'm willing to bet that the rest will fall into place.

sounds pretty cool. yeah, if you're going to have no vocals, I'd toss on a 3rd guitar (assuming you did one left and one right already) around 40 seconds to mimic a vocalist's melody. if there's vocals, then there's less of a need for the 3rd guitar. sounds cool though!

Thanks for the input so far, gents!

Re. melody, you won't hear any on any of my clips. I'll leave that up to the lead guitarist or vocalist, of which I am neither. :D A couple of guys have recorded their own leak work over my clips at another forum; daemon is the only one to have done it here so far. If anyone here wants to, be my guest! I enjoy hearing other players rip it up over my stuff.

As far as drums, the software I'm using (RiffWorks) does not have a lot of adjustability. I can alter bpm, & intensity somewhat, but to go more agressive would require plugging in a different drum loop. For the tom section, it's about as intense as it goes (kinda sounds like the "Everybody Wants Some" intro to me). I'm also limited in what kinds of drum files I can import (.rex only).

I would love more agressive drumming overall; my clips would be a lot heavier with more metal-oriented drum tracks. It's the big weak point in this software for a metal player. I wanted real simple drum programming for my first venture into home recording, though, so in that respect, it suits me perfectly. I have no desire to spend hours programming drums.

About left & right tracks, there are four tracks on each riff, two seperate takes & a duplicate of each. I've been playing around with multiple tracks (more than two, I mean) on the last two clips. Every other clip I've recorded had two takes panned L/R, with a third down the middle on occasion.
